Ionising radiation is used every day in hospitals around the world to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. Increasingly, therapeutic treatments are also available using interventional radiology.
The most common forms of radiation used in ionising medicine are x-rays and computed tomography (CT). Personnel using these technologies are trained to use the minimum amount of radiation necessary for the procedure.
This course will enhance your knowledge of protection, help you understand the responsibilities and reduce potential harmful effects of radiation.
